Don't Wait for Saturn's Return to Get Excited About Your Life

Forget the astrology; start now: spiritual word from a falcon Saturn Returns-Peregrine Falcon Image-Created by Marilyn Glover with Canva Originally published on Medium , which requires a paid membership to read. Saturn’s return is a celestial event when the planet Saturn returns to the same zodiac sign and degree occupied at the moment of one’s birth. Astrologically, it takes roughly 29 years for Saturn to maneuver through the zodiac, meaning most people will encounter 2–3 Saturn returns: late 20s, 50s, and 80s. Each cycle lasts about 3 years due to Saturn’s slow-moving speed, but its energy hits with a blast of ‘reality.’ Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to the latest edition of my recurring weekly medley! This is a space where I share soulful reflections to help readers ground their spirit and begin the new week with intentional clarity. Today’s post came about from a spiritual download on Saturday. I was sitting on my balcony in the early afternoon when I noticed a bird...

Hero: Black Tulip- A Jungian Poetry Preview from Shadow's Reprieve

A Jungian-inspired poem

Today, I share a poem from my upcoming debut poetry collection inspired by the theories of Carl Jung. This is a freestyle poem featured in part three of my work, which explores the Self archetype. The chapbook, Shadow's Reprieve, comes out in late May, and the full-length book, Archetype of the Unlived, is slated for release in December 2026.

While I have established somewhat of an online presence, most potential visitors will not know my name, so I share my art for free, hoping to gain reader trust and perhaps with that trust, I earn a follower and future supporter of my published works.

Hero: Black Tulip

My tulip garden flourished for seasons,
seasons,
until you came along.
Along like a dream,
dreamy blues,
blue-eyed you,
you made me believe in love.
Love, ours bloomed like my tulips.
Tulip-aligned, for the wrong reasons.

Reasonable certainty,
certainly,
I harbored doubt.
Doubtful of your sincerity,
sincere, my dear, you were not.
Not who I thought,
thought-processing; mind made clearer,
clearly, tulips didn't die inadvertently.

Inadvertent death; not my flora.
Flora, my beautiful garden,
gardening from my heart and soul,
soulful, my tulips held a part of me.
Me, I was complete.
Complete, until the tulips sensed your aura.

Aura-related, you were a weed.
Weeding me; parts you felt invasive.
Invasive, no, the aggressor was you.
You dug up dirt,
dirtying my yard for nothing.
Nothing discovered.
Discovery: You are not what I need.

Needs, I thought about my own.
Owning all my skills, my green thumb.
Thumb-yours, you kept me under,
under your power.
Powering over my entire being.
Being broken turned a stone.

Stone turning moment; a black hero,
Hero Tulip, a rare find.
Finding her in an empty patch healed my heart,
heartening my intuition.
Intuitively, I knew you planted my head full of lies.
Lies concluded.
Conclusive: You were a looming shadow.

Shadow cast to a sun's new dawn,
dawning my spirit with fertility.
Fertile; our futile love,
love myself, and let you be.
Be still, my soul,
Soulfully, all my tulips returned,
returning since you've been gone.

Stopping by for the first time?
