Saturn’s return is a celestial event when the planet Saturn returns to the same zodiac sign and degree occupied at the moment of one’s birth. Astrologically, it takes roughly 29 years for Saturn to maneuver through the zodiac, meaning most people will encounter 2–3 Saturn returns: late 20s, 50s, and 80s. Each cycle lasts about 3 years due to Saturn’s slow-moving speed, but its energy hits with a blast of ‘reality.’ Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to the latest edition of my recurring weekly medley! 5 Spiritual Tips to Build Patience During Taurus Season: From Restless to Rooted

Inspiration from a weeping cherry tree

Taurus season is nearing its end, but I share this post today to demonstrate my writing diversity. Poetry and spirituality are my favorite topics, and nature is my favorite place to be. Many creative projects are born outside, and just as many spiritual epiphanies are discovered.

This post was originally published on Medium in my publication, The Quiet Collective, and is part of a weekly recurring feature, Monday Morning Medley.

While reading stories on Medium entails a paid membership, I share my story here for free on my personal website.

As you can see, my story features highlights from readers; text-specific moments providing inspiration or a personal moment for pause.

Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to Taurus season! Today, I share spiritual tips to build patience during our current earth-based astrological sign. Coming off Aries’ fast-paced energy might make some people feel fidgety, even a bit unsettled, but I aim to restore tranquility with inspiration from a weeping cherry tree.

From restless to rooted, here we go! ๐ŸŒณ

First, let’s look at the astrological differences between the recently departed Aries and the new arrival, Taurus.

Aries (Ram) ๐Ÿ
Fire sign — Active and energetic
Cardinal — Leader and starter
Ruling planet: Mars (action, passion, war)
Key focus — Adventure, self-discovery

Taurus (Bull) ๐Ÿ‚
Earth sign — Grounded and practical
Fixed — Builder and finisher
Ruling Planet: Venus (beauty, love, pleasure)
Key focus — Material comfort and security

When compared, Aries is the stricken match, the fired-up energy that gets things moving; Taurus is the stabilizer, maintaining what is already present.

Something I noticed early in the weekend was an energy that felt a little all over the place: seasonably warm weather here in New York, suddenly cooled to winter-like temperatures, and my recent go-getter hot streak instantly met with fatigue and apprehension. The “spring cleaning” supercharged feeling I’ve encountered over the past couple of weeks had abruptly shifted, and I couldn’t understand why.

Then I looked out my office window and saw my neighbor’s weeping cherry tree in full bloom, and I smiled. I wait with great anticipation every spring for her to blossom her lovely pink flowers; finally, the time had come.

An instant source of comfort, and I knew right then and there that the weeping cherry tree would be today’s Monday Morning Medley inspiration.

Weeping Cherry notes:

Before diving into my spiritual tips for building patience during Taurus season, I share these statistics.

  • Weeping Cherry Trees (Prunus subhirtella ‘Pendula’ or Prunus Pendula) are popular deciduous ornamental trees in New York due to the temperate climate
  • Noted for cascading branches with early spring florals- white to pink
  • Bloom period- Late March to early May, often peaking in mid to late April
  • Mature dimensions range from Dwarf varieties ( 8–10 ft tall and wide), Standard varieties ( 15–25 ft tall and an equal spread), and Large varieties (up to 40 ft tall and wide).
  • Bloom duration- Short, 2- 4 weeks
  • While sharing a similar “weeping” growth habit with the weeping willow tree, the weeping cherry belongs to a different botanical family and genus

Pre-insight to spiritual tips: how I got here

My spiritual tips came to me during nature observation and meditation with a little guidance from one of my favorite YouTube tarot readers, PlutoBean. While I thoughtfully drew parallels between one of nature’s early spring beauties and Tauru’s grounded energy, PlutoBean gave me an aha moment during one of his readings dedicated to us, channel members.

He said that Aries is the first sign in the zodiac, marking the beginning of the astrological new year.

A personal lightbulb moment๐Ÿ’ก

While January 1st is recognized as New Year’s Day in modern times, the Aries astrological attribute felt personally aligned.

PlutoBean also mentioned a current timeline shift when something of personal importance (project, art, goal, etc.) is finally coming into manifestation, because the process has been a journey without projection, the need for control, or being dictated. Instead, it has been a journey of sheer joy and love of creation.

Think Aries starter energy mixed with Taurus stabilizer.

๐Ÿฉท Apply this as it fits personally moving forward.

5 Spiritual Tips to Build Patience During Taurus Season

The following draws inspiration from the weeping cherry tree:

  1. ๐ŸŒธ Rooting before reaching — Instead of jumping to the next step prematurely, focus inward on what you already have. Family, friends, health, work, home, and daily routines are important. Spiritual growth requires the ability to be anchored in the present. The weeping cherry’s height depends on the strength of its roots.
  2. ๐ŸŒธ Practice flexibility — Breathe through delays and practice bending to circumstances when things are less than ideal. Life will not always move at your preferred pace, and that is okay; in fact, sometimes, it’s necessary. Weeping cherry tree branches sway in strong winds, but they survive. Taurus energy asks you to stay the course with grace.
  3. ๐ŸŒธ Honor quiet growth (pink noise) — Embrace quiet periods by learning to love the process, not just the results. Enjoy all the behind-the-scenes moments and the journey, even if it feels like a long one. A weeping cherry tree spends much of one year preparing for two weeks of flowers.
  4. ๐ŸŒธ Release the petals (of control) — Stop trying to micromanage outcomes. Letting go is an important part of spiritual growth. Doing so awakens the spirit to the benefits of all life cycles, even during the barren period. Don’t project or dictate, and release the need to control outcomes. A weeping cherry’s flowers will fall to the ground, but the tree knows they will return the following year.
  5. ๐ŸŒธ Wait for the “Venusian click” — Learn to sit in the waiting room of life. If something isn’t happening fast enough, then the timing likely isn’t right. Understand that frustration is a self-made prison. An altered mindset finds sanctuary in every season. A weeping cherry doesn’t bloom unless the conditions are aligned. The obvious outward beauty of the flowers is only one type; many other hidden beauties await those willing to see. Your “waiting room” is an opportunity to find all the “others.”

If feeling a little stuck, consider this: if Aries equals full speed ahead, then Taurus equals steady movement, maintaining what is already available. Appreciate all that you have right now, sustain, and nurture. No speed, just attentive care.

When I looked back at my story, Straight from the Fire Horse’s Mouth, I found two self-written quotes that align with current energy.

“Burnout from the turnout
Turn it up too much, and fire becomes chaos
Intuition needs nutrition.”

“Overeager energy, however, poses budding issues when balance is traded for quick results”

Your turn:

Feeling a little restless?

Need a little grounding aid?

Look at the last month:

What were you working on? Projects? Goals?

Even out the flow:

Not top speed, not slow; find the happy middle pace. Turn attention inward, appreciate, breathe, nurture.

Look to nature:

Watch the green-up period; flowers actively fill in spaces, and some blooms seasonally peak. Watch songbirds return. Watch nature’s backdrop steadily brighten and thicken.

Become part of that process and build the patience necessary to navigate Taurus season.

Balanced, centered, grounded, rooted…

Taurus season ends on May 20.

Have you built on your patience?

Do you need a little more work?
