Saturn’s return is a celestial event when the planet Saturn returns to the same zodiac sign and degree occupied at the moment of one’s birth. Astrologically, it takes roughly 29 years for Saturn to maneuver through the zodiac, meaning most people will encounter 2–3 Saturn returns: late 20s, 50s, and 80s. Each cycle lasts about 3 years due to Saturn’s slow-moving speed, but its energy hits with a blast of ‘reality.’ Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to the latest edition of my recurring weekly medley! Spiritual Surgery for the Non-Religious: A Practical Guide for Skeptics

A woman lying down receives spiritual surgery from a healer using crystals on her chakras.

Disclaimer: This article is a spiritual guide and by no means meant to diagnose or replace vital health care that only medical professionals can provide.

Wednesday night, during late-hour meditation, I received a hard-hitter of a spiritual download. “You need spiritual surgery,” stuck with me throughout the night, presenting more information in my dreams. As a highly spiritual non-religious person, I knew there was much to ruminate on, so I could accurately interpret the messages of what felt like an urgent psychic bulletin.

Spiritual surgery— What the heck is that?

For the uninformed, spiritual surgery, also known as psychic surgery and energetic healing, is a metaphor for alternative health concepts based on emotional, mental, and vital life force healing. These terms fall under a practice called Putative Energy Medicine.

Metaphysical healing is a more recognized term.

Techniques for non-religious individuals

Examples of spiritual surgery include:

  1. Energy Healing/Quantum TechniquesAre non-invasive approaches performed by a qualified healer who assumes a subatomic view of healing, altering the vibrational frequency of cells and organs, targeting the foundation (quantum).
  2. Guided Imagery & Visualization— Done with a trained mentor, this technique utilizes mental visualization to “envision” the removal of emotional or pain blockages.
  3. Reframing a Personal Narrative— This requires actively reviewing and changing one’s perspective on life and is a major contributor to healing from past trauma.
  4. Meditation— Involves “clearing space” in the mind to release stress and reduce emotional burdens.
  5. Mindfulness & Positive Affirmations— Rewire negative thought patterns by utilizing deliberate positive, repetitive present-tense statements. Daily practice, deep belief, and personalization are key.

Common medicinal practices

Whatever one prefers to call it, the following are the primary types of spiritual surgery

  1. Chakra-based Energy Healing— Focuses on clearing/rebalancing the body’s energy centers
  2. Distant/Absent Healing— A qualified practitioner transmits energy to a patient who is not physically present.
  3. Etheric/Subtle Energy Surgery— A practitioner acts as a conduit for spiritual guides (“spiritual surgeons”) to perform surgery on a client’s energy fields (commonly 6 inches above the body).
  4. Non-Touch/Hands-Off Healing— A practitioner’s hands hover over a patient’s body, scanning, clearing, and sealing energy fields.
  5. Meridian-based Energy Healing— Involves techniques such as acupressure, acupuncture, heat therapy (moxibustion), and tapping to restore balance to energy pathways.
  6. Reiki Psychic Surgery— Advanced method used by Reiki Masters that involves using specialized hand positions (“Reiki Fingers”) to remove spiritual imprints, deep-rooted energy blocks, and unprocessed emotions/ feelings.

Specific variations include crystal healing, Qigong, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Polarity Therapy, Energetic Unwinding, and Quantum Touch.  While many of the above spiritual surgery practices feel good and are relaxing, mainstream medicine often labels them as “hoax” medicine due to a lack of scientific evidence. Often, perceived improvements are attributed to the power of suggestion and personal belief, resulting in a placebo effect. A concerned medical professional fears a patient’s delay or even abandonment of conventional life-saving medicine due to what many call fraudulent practices.

Practical application for the skeptic

Metaphysical healing meets with many skeptics, especially when humans are conditioned to believe in hardcore evidence. If science backs it up, fine, but if not, many are inclined to scoff and look the other way. Words like “visualization” and “affirmation” might sound a bit woo-woo for anyone relying on tangible results. After all, why would anyone trust a spiritual solution when people are living beings seen with the naked eye?

Perhaps if I rewrote the above bullet points with more medical jargon and technicality, I could sway the doubter.

No rewrites, here, however.

Because I want the reluctant one to consider this: Humans have a physical body, and the body houses the spirit. Just because one cannot see the spirit doesn’t mean it’s not present.

The wind is real, though you can’t see it.

Gravity is real yet can’t be seen.

Sound is most obvious, but you’ll never see it.  I realize the above is insufficient for the tightly reserved; why not use modern medicine and metaphysical healing in tandem?

Yes collaboratively!

The case for collaboration, my spiritual download

By using myself as an example, let’s jump back to my meditation.

Meditation has been my ideal mind-clearing practice for decades, so when the bridge of my nose began tingling, I knew an important etheral message was upon me. “You need spiritual surgery,” spoke explicitly in my head in a profound clairaudient occurrence.

Not a wandering thought

Not debatable

But a high-pitched, certain loving voice

A recent medical event prompted this particular meditation; last week, I was hospitalized overnight after going to a local emergency room with severe abdominal pressure. No fever, but I don’t have a spleen, which I lost in 2020 due to a very rare benign condition: Littoral Cell Angioma. A CT scan revealed abdominal inflammation, so medical professionals kept me under close monitoring while I received intravenous medications.

Since my release, I’ve been to a gastroenterologist, had more blood work, and I am waiting for my endoscopy/ultrasound appointment to diagnose my sudden onset of symptoms.

As a person firmly set on self-advocacy, I’ve done my due diligence researching LCA and possible connections to other illnesses and diseases. I’ve been active in personal medical research since 2020, trying to learn more about this rare disorder. Rare means less explored, fewer cases, and more data needed, so I owe it to myself to stay on top of things despite not having a medical degree.

This isn’t about playing Doctor “Google”— It’s about being one’s own very best self-representative.

"You need spiritual surgery"

This download instantly took my mind to Reiki, chakras, and drew my attention to specific Reiki hand positions and the solar plexus chakra, which represents the stomach. As a Reiki-attuned person and one who understands the connection between chakras and the human body, I instantly knew I needed to explore the spiritual downloads presented to me.

Solar Plexus notes:

  1. Solar Plexus— Located in the upper abdomen, just below the rib cage
  2. Physical Association— Controls the digestive system, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas
  3. Functions— Decision making, personal identity, self-esteem, and willpower
  4. Imbalance Symptoms— Physical: digestive issues, ulcers, and fatigue, Emotional: lack of confidence, helplessness, low self-esteem, or excessive anger/aggression

Why is this personally relevant?

Since March 2025, I’ve been unemployed due to a work-related accident that resulted in knee surgery. I’ve been all over the place emotionally while physically healing. Financial worries, feelings of low worth, and helplessness have flooded my mind more times than I care to mention.

A year of accumulated stress and now a stomach problem— doesn’t exactly sound crazy now, does it?

Then there is the issue of no spleen.

Is there a connection? Has my previous tumor condition manifested in another way?

By now, I hope you are beginning to see more clearly the physical/spiritual human connection.

My Gastro consult

Yesterday, I had a one-hour consultation with a gastroenterologist. We discussed in great length my sudden onset of symptoms and traced my earliest stomach issues to childhood. We discussed my spleen, LCA, and several underlying possibilities.

Without a doubt, I owe the success of this conversation to my due diligence in being highly self-aware.

Did I go into the office talking about my spiritual download, chakras, and alternative healing?

NO — That would likely sound highly illogical to a Western Medicine practitioner.

Instead, I used my spiritual experience as a bridge to form a detailed discussion that prompted my doctor to look beyond the medical data in front of her.

The result — A possible connection to Celiac Disease

Moving forward means widening the scope and investigating less likely scenarios.

Logical Application

As you can see, I applied a spiritual perspective to my bodily functions to help find answers. Taken together, this makes sense, as the human condition far exceeds the physical.

When we think of “disease,” often the first thoughts are sickness, something wrong within the physical body, organs, diagnosis, and treatment plans, but a broader mindset, one more spiritually aware, entails this:

When the soul is at dis ease, the body becomes affected.

As a child, my grandmother always told me to watch my nerves.

Yes, genetics and environmental factors are relevant. The body gets sick. Doctors are needed. Tests, medication, therapies, and modern medical applications are logical.

Beyond the medicine, though, a much deeper, spiritual root begs for attention — a silent partner that asks for a closer look.

While spiritual surgery and all things metaphysical might sound a bit too far-fetched, woo-woo, and like magic, it’s worth noting that several countries integrate metaphysical with modern medicine. China, India, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Cuba all consider mind-body-spirit connections, energy, or spiritual causality when diagnosing their patients.

Modern medicine that incorporates a holistic approach is

Final word for the skeptics

 called Anthroposophic medicine.

Anthroposophy is a view on humanity and nature that is spiritual and that at the same time regards itself to be profoundly scientific.

Something to really think about, especially concerning modern Western medicine.

Still in doubt?

Consider this: How many times has your doctor made a wrong diagnosis, had to alter a treatment plan, or simply didn’t have the answer to your pressing medical concerns?

Doctors are humans, and humans make errors. Humans are physical beings. Humans are spiritual, too, but often the silent partner is ignored in favor of science-backed evidence.

What if, for once, just once, you considered the spiritual component?

Nothing to lose and everything to gain

This isn’t about self-diagnosis or disregarding a medical professional’s insight; it’s about becoming more self-aware, which inspires one to become one's very own best health advocate.

Because when we understand ourselves better spiritually, we are closer to our overall being, and this, folks, means cultivating a deeper connection to our bodies.

That isn’t far-fetched or off the rails; it’s logical.
